I wonder when fall got here, it took me by surprise.

I will apoligize for the break, because I've been sick and jeans and t-shirts are my thing when I'm sick. I started this blog to motivate myself to get out of the jeans-and-t-shirt zone, but they're so easy. I can't help but slip. I have come a long way, slips and all, and I think my style has improved considerably since last March when I started this blog (has it really been that long? Finally, I've learned that determination will get you somewhere. Take that, lazy self). I like to layer, and mix patterns and where sun dresses in fall. If my sisters annoying friend thinks that I'm weird because of this, well then she can just suck it cause three different people complimented my leggings and asked me where I'd got(gotten?) them.

I really hate my face here, gah.

Coat // Gift from my sister :)
Shirt// Urban Planet, again maybe?
Skirt// Suzy Shier
Leggings//Sirens
and Converse. <3

*This post has actually been sitting in blogger for the last couple days because of how busy I've been with school work. Sighh.
And did I forget to mention, if anyone wonders why my comments are moderated, it's so that I know when I get them and am sure to read them. : )

So theres this new trend

This new trend is wearing your summer clothes during autumn. It's huge, everybody is doing it-

Except really I'm just kidding, although it would be pretty funny if all of a sudden girls were wearing sun dresses and flip flops to school. This strange intro is because of what I wore today: a summer dress and a wool sweater that does an excellent job of keeping in heat, and shorts.

I'm actually in love with this dress. I have no close ups for you, unfortunately, because I kind of forgot. Tomorrow I'll update.

But while wearing summer clothes for autumn isn't actually a hot trend on the runways, it does give me more options. I feel less restricted if I can still wear my pretty summer clothes. Luckily enough I am not required to wear tights or leggings with a dress yet, as it isn't that cold.

 On another note:
My day back in school was nice, because I was unreasonably happy for a very silly and very nice reason. Then after lunch I basically fell asleep in my seat. :)

Outfit of the Day for 30 consecutive days: Days 2 & 3

What happened to yesterday's outfit is Hurricane Igor. The awful storm that took away our electricity yesterday which is why I didnt update. Being with out a stove or flushing toilet from 3:30 pm until 3 am kind of sucked, but its all good now - here at my house, but St John's east is still without power, many roads have been washed away and (the saddest news of all) an 80 year old man was swept out to sea when his driveway washed out from under him. This was easily the worst storm I've ever experienced, as most we tend to only get the end of, but the eye of the storm passed right over us yesterday. The wind was so loud, and terrifying and at one point we thought the roof was being torn off.

Not having lights made it difficult for my younger sister to take pictures of my
non-exciting outfit. This is about as good as it gets.
I went down the road next to mine and took some pictures of the damage.

Several fallen trees in a front yard

A new pond that hadnt been there before.

And then my friends and I went to the park, and had loads of fun, and walked my friend Emily home, and then Chantelle took my outfit pictures. Chantelle is starting up her own fashion blog soon, so I'll give you a link to that in a couple of days.

Outfit of the Day for 30 consecutive days, Day 1:

It's come to my attention that I kind of fail at this, so I've decided to set a goal for my self: to have an outfit post for 30 days, in a row. Today I asked my sister for her picture skills and her time, and we got right down to business. We had fun too, because, theres less of a chance of being emarassed if your neighbor sees you if your sister is taking the pictures instead of using a self timer. So I got Abigail to promise to help me for the next 30 days and at the end there will be some fun outtakes.
Also, if you're not as obsessive about this blog as I am, you may not have noticed my 3rd bloglovin' follower. Go followers! Yeah! (I should get a t-shirt or something that says Go Followers! #1 Fan! Cause you know I'm your #1 fan for reading my blog, thanks guys!)

I had to picnik collage this, on account of blogger being an ass about pictures.

Outfit Details:
Jacket: H&M
TankTop: Urban Planet
Jeans: Eclipse
Sneakers: Walmart
Those sneakers are just about my least favourite in the world, but seeing as my converse are missing and my other pair of canvas sneakers are falling apart, im kind of stuck with these from a few years ago when my ideas about fashion were kind of meh. Back when I didnt care at all. My collection of shoes is rather lacking, unfortunately. I feel this outfit would have went better with stompy boots, but alas, I have no Doc Martens.

Outfit of Yesterday

If you're one of those rare people that don't know me outside of my blog, and you're wondering where I've run off too, never fear. I only ran across Australia in 7 days, I'm back now. It's all good.
/jokes

What actually kept me from posting was not a marathon down under, but a missing memory card. I found it though, so now you get to stare at my extremely beautiful images. I say that with irony because as I'm typing it's 11:30 and I'm lazy.
Notice how the focus of this photograph is my arm. Atleast that is a part of my outfit, I suppose.
Next, is a show of my own creativity.*
Excellent. >_<
Good morning/afternoon/evening/night/christmas to you all! And a Happy New Year!

*Im not trying to pole dance, believe me. I just fail at climbing beds and also owning a tripod.

Outfit Details
Raglan Tee: Urban Planet
Plaid Skirt: Suzy Shier
Unseen Cardigan that I will probably show you tmr: Fairweather
and also my flats that I've worn in every post so far. Those too.

Last moment Mention: Have you seen someone start a "30 day challenge" on facebook? Here it seems to spreading like wildfire. I thought it was kind of rediculous, but interesting, so here's my take:

Day 1
Day 2
This is kind of fun, actually.

Outfit of Yesterday

I have a sort of outfit post from yesterday, when my friends and I went to Jungle Jims and then the park. It was excellent. I did not get photos of my outfit that were intended to show it off, but I did get this:
Tire swings are amazing. Also,
Surprise!
I am now a blondie. Excellent! And I'm not being sarcastic if it seems that way. Can't stay and chat though, I've got school in the morning and I need my sleep!

Outfit of the Day

My mom took my sister and I school shopping on Saturday, which was very fun. Very much fun it was. :D (If you haven't noticed, I like shopping. Lots and lots indeed.)

Cardigan//2nd Hand, Suzy Shier
Shorts//Urban Planet
Cami/ Urban Planet
 Socks//Wally's World
Necklace//Canada's Wonderland :D
Bag//Bentley

That plaid bag is actually a devine lunch bag. Devine because it is pink and plaid and looks nice, lunch bag because plastic grocery bags just don't cut it anymore. :P
And I know this sounds ridiculous, but I'm actually kind of scared of fall. Not of school, not of my hectic Grade 10 schedule, but of the fact that Newfoundland gets chilly; fast. Our winters last a long time, so until the beginning of May there will be snow on the ground. I don't know what I'm going to do... freeze, I guess? Not much of a choice, because I'll shiver wether I'm in snowpants or jeans, anyway. And I'd rather walk to the bus in jeans if I can make the decision. Fortunately our fall is off to a good start, with today having a high of 29 degrees and all (In september!). But the temperature can drop quickly. We've had blizzards in the first week of October. All I can do is keep my hopes up, I suppose! Anyway, here are a few shots from my day. I woke up at 6:30 and got this, which I later edited in picnik because I'm a cheat but it was nice before the editing too. :)
I purged my closet again to make room for new clothes. Unfortunately the closet in my room is actually quite small, and I have to share with my younger sister. I can only hang clothes in it because the floor and the top shelf are covered in junk. Anyways, I thought I needed new jeans. Strangely when I brought them home and counted them all, there were a total of 11 pairs of jeans, a pair of jean capris plus my two pairs of dress pants. And this after I threw out a pair with a large rip in the knee. I wonder why I thought my stock of denim pants was low?

Finally, I'm showing off my lovely lovely purple 25% percent wool sweater from Joe Fresh. I have to be careful with wool because I have really sensitive skin but this sweater hardly itches. :)
Well, Good morning/Night! Perhaps I should get in to the habit of posting during the day instead of at 3:40 am when I can't sleep. Hmm.

Edit: Psst, I have a secret. I'm dying my hair tomorrow! But the secret is I'm not telling you what colour. And bytheway, self, how on earth do I fit 11 pairs of jeans in my closet? Insanity. It must be like Wonderland or something in there.

BlogLovin and Outfit of the Day

Thanks to the wonderful Style Heretic for their suggestion, you can now follow my blog with BlogLovin!

Plus: In an attempt to make outfit posts more regular, I set up my camera to pose for, forgetting that the battery was almost completely dead. As a result, my only photo is this one:

I am so cool, I edit my pictures with Picnik.
Outfit details:
Cardigan / Winners (The Canadian equivilent of TJ Maxx) The label says AphOrism.
Tank top / Garage, 2nd hand
Jeans / Either bought new from Stitches, or thrifted. They're a brand of jeans that Stitches carries.
Necklace / gift from a family friend while in Cuba. :D
(unseen) Sneakers / Converse. I lovelovelove my black hi-top converse. I might buy a pair of red low-tops off ebay.

Also today I went to the flea market at my mall and bought a bunch of stuffies that you get to see tomorrow when my battery is charged. :)

*Shout out to Eileen (family friend) who wont see this because she doesn't have internet, but it's the thought that counts.

Oufit of the Day

First off, I'd like to thank the people who recently commented on my posts; you guys are the best! I needed something to get me off my feet, because I felt like nobody bothered to read it and I didn't see the point anymore. I also had to deal with the death of my lovely dog, Jenny, last week. I'm not going to get in to that much, I think. But regardless of my less-than-sunny feelings this past week, the show must go on. Right? Right!

So I actually pulled some outfits together 4 consecutive days in a row (I count outfits as ones that don't involve a shirt and skinny jeans. That's too easy and boring. And repetitive, for me.) but ever the hard worker, I only got pictures of one. I have decided that I need a tripod, as soon as possible. My camera is too big for sitting on railings.

Woah, white. I should not take pictures at night because I have no talent.
And I should bother with my hair in the mornings. And maybe give you the outfit details, too.

Outfit details
Jacket: Second hand
Dress: Stitches

I don't wear shoes, they cause ouchies.

PS.If my Aunt Madge reads this, then Thanks Aunt Madge for contributing to my closet. :D

Edit: Perhaps next time I should use autofocus. Sorry guys.

Outfit of the Day: The Tomboy Episode

Today was a lazy day. I actually didn't even wake up until 2:20. I didn't do much, at all. Of course that's why I didn't take my outfit pictures until 11 pm, I was so busy, right?

If this picture looks incredibly akward to you, that's just me pulling on my shirt. I don't secretly have a beer gut or man parts. ;P
Outfit Details:
Tube Top//Stitches
Plaid Shirt//Stitches
Shorts//Urban Planet
I didn't style my hair. I didnt put on make up. I think I looked very tomboy-ish today, but nobody saw me so that's fine with me! You can see the sides of my glasses in the first photo. Whaddaya think? ;)

Seeing as I am a 15 year old with no job I am forced to make the best with what I've got - the inexpensive clothing stores in the Avalon Mall. Thats why most of my things come from stores like Stitches and Urban Planet. I really love thrifting, and I wish I could do it more often so that my blog wasn't pictures of clothes anyone could have. Maybe if I had a car and a license I could get out more. I'd have vintage dresses and high waisted pants and, and, and... well thats what daydreaming gets me. Absolutely nothing, at the moment. So I wear what everybody else in my town does. I hope what sets me apart from everyone is how I wear it, and the peices I pick out. Of course, the shorts on the rack could be bought by anyone. But if I buy them, I can wear them in any which way I want.
Sorry for rambling. I had a thought and it evolved in to a paragraph.
Also, I won't be around for the next few days. Im going with my family to a Cottage On A Beach for the weekend. Fun : )

Outfit of the Day (2/2)

As promised, I took my outfit outside. For some reason, I was having trouble with the manual options, so I switched to auto, hence the blinding sky. Eh. Also, I just put the shirt and skirt on over my outfit today, so you'll probably notice my tanktop and shorts peeking out. Andandand; new glasses! :D
*Looks unhappy, but actually isn't*
That's my doggy, Jenny. : )

UPDATE: I've discovered that now, if you search "fashion fledgling" in google, this blog is the 4th result. The 2nd is a picture of me on my polyvore. The reason this is so exciting is that for ages, my blog didnt even come up in the first few pages. *is actually way more excited about this than is reasonable"

Outfit of the Day (1/2)

Top & Skirt // Urban Planet
Bead Necklace // Thrifted
Earrings // Walmart
Ring // Stitches
(If you can't see it, it's the ring worn in an earlier post)
Glasses // Nonexistant : D

If you could please ignore my akward smile in the 2nd photo, I hate my braces. This is what I wore today! By evening it was so hot and humid that I had to change, phew. Anyways. I feel that I kind of half-assed these pictures, tomorrow I think I'll put it on again and retake some nicer ones in my backyard. Maybe I'll have another outfit to post, too! :)

Here are some goodies.

First, a random shot from when I pulled my camera out of hibernation today (: D)
And next, a two month old picture I forgot to post. Oops.
Its a pretty sweater though. :D

Outfit of (Two weeks ago)

I got bored, so the pictures are yellow and pink tinted. :)
